Chennai: Veteran actor Kamal Haasan on Tuesday launched a new mobile application ‘Maiyam Whistle’ which, he said, will serve as an interface between his fans and him to check corruption.
Haasan made this announcement at the GRT Convention Center here coinciding with his 63rd birthday, saying the application will be a citizen’s platform to enable whistle-blowing.
Speaking on the occasion, the actor said, “The mobile application is an open platform to connect with the people. It will be a sort of a whistle-blower platform, and can be used wherever wrong or any injustice happens. I will strive to achieve justice.”
Over months, Haasan has lent voice to various key issues supposed to affect the general public and specific sectors GST, corruption in levy of entertainment tax, dengue, environment-harming land appropriation, and significantly the common medical entrance test.
