HaseenaMumbai: Shraddha Kapoor fans will have to wait a little longer to see her in the biopic Haseena Parkar in which she will be seen as gangster Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena.

Director Apoorva Lakhia announced on social media that he is pushing his film Haseena Parkar, scheduled to release on August 18, to avoid any major box office clash.

“There is no point in trying to get into the current clutter of releases. We all can see what is happening to all the films that are coming out. If we came on August 18 we would have Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal and Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha behind us,” Lakhia wrote.

“Akshay’s film has tax exemption. Why should we do something as suicidal as to release our film at a time when the competition is not only tough, but impossible to cope with?” he questioned.

The release date of the crime biopic has been rescheduled for the fourth time as of now.

Earlier, Haseena Parkar was slated to release on July 14 but it was postponed to avoid a clash with Anurag Basu’s Jagga Jasoos, Ravi Udyawar’s MOM and Raja Krishna Menon’s  Chef.

The new date booked for Haseena Parkar was July 28 but again, it was already a crowded Friday.  The makers might have thought it would not be worth clashing with Anees Bazmee’s Mubarakan, Madhur Bhandarkar’s Indu Sarkar and Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Raag Desh. That’s when the film was scheduled for an August 18 release.

Shraddha Kapoor’s brother Siddhanth plays Dawood in the film based on the life of the dreaded gangster’s sister.
