CBSE suspends 130 teachers including 7 from Odisha for wrong evaluation

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has suspended 130 teachers including seven from Bhubaneswar region. The action was taken following reports of errors in calculating marks awarded in the Class XII exams re-evaluation for which the CBSE had faced flak.

According to reports, the CBSE initiated action against 45 erring teachers from Patna, 27 from Dehradun, 14 from Chennai, 11 in Allahabad, six in Delhi, two in Guwahati and one in Trivandrum, and eight each in Ajmer and Panchkula after miscalculation upto 55 marks were found during re-evaluation of exam papers.

The CBSE had declared both the class 10 and class 12 results in the last week of May. However, candidates who were unsatisfied with the marks they were awarded had apply for the re-evaluation which had started from June 1.
