Paradip, Mar 19: In a major breakthrough, Paradip police on Sunday arrested another accused Ashok Bihari alias Kadir Khan in connection with the Seaways Shipping and Logistics Private Limited General Manager Mahendra Swain murder case.
Sources said, Paradip police with the help of its Howrah counterpart arrested Bihari from Tilkhana slum of Howrah in neighbouring West Bengal.
Paradip police will bring the accused on transit remand after producing him in the Howrah SDJM court, added the sources.
Bihari was a wanted criminal with more than 20 criminal cases against him at different police station of the state.
Apart from Odisha, Bihari used to carry out his criminal activities in other four states.
Swain was shot dead near Ambedkar Bhawan at Madhuban Colony on October 26 last year in Paradip.
Two miscreants had hurled crude bombs at Swain’s SUV and fired two rounds at him while he was fleeing to save his life after alighting from the vehicle.
