Bhubaneswar, Apr 10: In a tragic incident, a patient undergoing treatment at the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) died after falling off the sixth floor of the hospital here on Monday.
According to reports, one Subash Jena, a native of Dhenkanal was under medication at the Orthopaedics department of the government-run hospital. However, he fell off the sixth floor where the department is located and died of injuries.
Though the exact reason under what circumstances he fell off the building and died subsequently is yet to be known, family members claimed that Jena took the extreme step as he was under severe mental stress. Earlier too, he had tried to commit suicide, they added.
Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police after registering a case has started investigation into the incident.
