Berhampur: A man sustained critical injury after being attacked by a neighbour in Khariaguda village under Darada police limits in Ganjam district, today.
The injured has been identified as Harischandra Pradhan.
Harischandra was busy in some work outside his home in the village this morning, when the accused Tutu Pradhan arrived there and attacked him with a stick. The victim sustained critical head injury in the attack and fell unconscious on the spot.
Family members rushed Harischandra to Patrapur Community Health Centre (CHC) first and then shifted to MKCG Medical College in Berhampur for deteriorating condition.
Darada Police arrested the accused after he surrendered before them with the weapon.
Investigation is on in the matter and police suspect the incident to be fallout of a past enmity.
