Baripada: Protesting against the ill-treatment shown to the district Collector during a Zilla Parishad meeting yesterday, employees of Mayurbhanj District Collectorate and four other Sub Divisional offices on Thursday came office wearing black-badges.
The decision was taken by the employees after the Mayurbhanj Zilla Parishad Chairman and 49 members boycotted a meeting held at DRDA conference hall here yesterday over a difference with Collector Surendra Kumar Meena. The agitating members later staged a dharna before the meeting venue and gheraoed local MLA, Collector and other officials.
All the officials were released by the agitators only after police reached the spot and intervened in the matter.
The protest would also continue till tomorrow, informed the government employees.
