Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik in Mumbai to attend Make in Odisha Road Show

Mumbai: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday arrived here to attend the Make in Odisha Road Show tomorrow.

According to reports, Patnaik would hold one-to-one parley with the industry captains and formally invite them to the Make in Odisha Conclave scheduled to be held in November this year.

The CM would also hold talks with the new investors and also invite them to the conclave as Odisha is emerging as one among the most-preferred business destinations in India.

The first edition of the biennial investment conclave, where Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) was the industry partner, was conducted successfully in 2016. However, the CII is not participating in this year’s event.

On the other hand, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) has agreed to be part of the Make in Odisha conclave this year.

“In 2016, there had been three investor meets. First was in Mumbai Make in Odisha Meet. Then in Bengaluru and in November in Bhubaneswar Make In Odisha Conclave. If these three are summed up, approximately Rs 3,64,000 crore investment intention was received then. Till date, over Rs 2,02,000 crore worth proposal already grounded. This is not my data. It’s the data of State Government’s Industry Secretary which has already been briefed by him to media,” said BJD spokesperson Sasmit Patra while speaking to the reporters.
