As the hosts of Union Ministers and MPs flocked Bhubaneswar to attend the BJP National Executive meet, some of them visited Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, the world’s largest tribal residential school.

Union Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar was the first to visit KISS campus. Appreciating the efforts of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT and KISS, he interacted with the students and also went on to shake a leg on an Odia folk number. Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare was also present on the occasion.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met the students and faculty of KISS and was overwhelmed to see the large gathering of 25,000 students. “Marvellous,” he exclaimed, while addressing the students. “I have never seen so many disciplined students in my life at one place. Dr. Samanta is doing a great job and I congratulate him for commendable work.” He also expressed his desire to spend two days with the students.

Similarly, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu also visited the campus and spoke to the students. Narrating anecdotes from his life, he encouraged the children to do well in life. “I had learnt about KISS from a TV program on a news channel, where the children had pledged for a Swachh Bharat. I had made up my mind to visit KISS then itself.
Today, I will honoured to meet you all,” he said in his address to the
children.

During his visit to KIIT and KISS, Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Vijay Goel, reviewed the SAI Extension Centre of KIIT University and expressed his satisfaction on the project. While interacting with the students of KISS, he inquired about their interests in movies and even made the students repeat a few songs after him.
