Dharmagarh, Apr 05: Tension ran high in Ucchula village under Kegaan police limits in the district following the death of an infant in a road accident on Wednesday.
According to reports, a tractor run over a toddler identified as Kabita Nag while she was playing on the road. She died on the spot.
Irate over the incident and demanding adequate compensation for the kin of the deceased minor, locals locked the driver and helper, identified as Rahul Mandal and Samar Viswas respectively, in the Panchayat office.
On being informed, police rushed to the spot and rescued Mandal and Viswas. Besides, they interrogated the duo over the incident.
