Sand artists appeal to save environment on World Environment Day

World Environment DayPuri/Mumbai: Famous sand artists of Odisha created different sand sculptures in Puri and Mumbai with an aim to spread the message to preserve and protect environment among the people on the occasion of World Environment Day (WED) on Monday.

Famous sand artist Manas Sahoo created a 20 feet long sand sculpture in Puri with the message: “Green Earth for Good Health.”

Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik also created his sculpture art at Versova Beach in Mumbai with an appeal to keep the environment plastic free. His art work bore the message: “Say no to plastic” and “Keep our environment plastic free”.

Sudarsan’s students from Sudarsan Sand Art Institute also created a unique sand sculpture on Puri beach. They appealed to the people to plant trees to keep the the environment safe and unpolluted.

The WED is being observed across the world on June 05 since 1973 with an aim to create awareness among the people for the protection of the environment.
