The strife-torn Bhadrak remains by-and-large peaceful, as curfew has been relaxed today from 7 AM till 2 PM in the afternoon. Schools and Colleges were opened from 8 AM till 10:30 AM. However, Banks and Government Offices will function from 10 AM till 2 PM.

Situation remains completely under control, as RAF and Police kept a close watch on all activities in the town. Peace committee meetings were held between religious groups to ensure peace and harmony in the region. Some stray incidents of sabotage were reported yesterday, but security forces were quick to bring things back to normal.

Meanwhile, blame game over Bhadrak unrest continues, as both BJD and BJP hitting out at each other. After BJP alleged involvement of local BJD leaders in the violence, BJD too accused Bajrang Dal and VHP of aggravating the situation.

BJD MP from Bhadrak, Arjun Charan Sethi dropped a bombshell yesterday, blaming the local police and SP for the escalation of violence in the town, asking why a bike procession was allowed on Friday when Section 144 was in place.
