The regional Meteorological department in Bhubaneswar has forecast rains in the state on Sunday.
According to the Met report, the depression formed over the South-East of Bay of Bengal is intensifying gradually. It will take the form of a cyclonic storm over the next 12 hours. Under its influence, there will be rain and thunder showers at different places of the state mostly in the Northern and Interior districts like Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Baleswar, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Angul and Jajpur.
Meanwhile, the distant cautionary signal number one has been hoisted at Paradip and Gopalpur ports. Besides, the fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea.
