Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, who arrived in Bhubaneswar today to attend the BJP National Executive 2017, downplayed the Mahanadi debate, saying it was a non-issue, which was made an issue by the ruling BJD Govt.
“People of Odisha realised the truth. That’s why they reposed trust in BJP in the recently held panchayat polls in the state. However, we are ready for any discussion on this issue”, said Dr. Singh.
Dr. Raman Singh evaded the queries on whether he would prefer to have talks with his Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik on this issue. Mahanadi has been a bone of contention between both states after Odisha accused Chhattisgarh of constructing barrages on the River without any intimation and alleged that it would dry up Odisha in future.
