Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday expressed his deepest condolences over the death of the eight people, who lost their lives in an autorickshaw-truck collision on Jagatsinghpur-Machhagaon road near Chandol Chhak this morning.
Patnaik also announced Rs 2 lakh of ex-gratia each for the kin of the deceased and free medical treatment for the injured persons.
The eight residents of Singitalia village in Machhagaon area of the district died when the auto-rickshaw, in which they were travelling, was hit by a speeding truck.
Two others critically injured in the accident are still undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
