Hi-Tech Medical College in Rourkela debarred for 2 years

Hi-Tech-Medical-CollegeNew Delhi: The Union Health Ministry has imposed restrictions on Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital in Rourkela, barring it from holding admission in MBBS courses for two years.

The Medical College can’t admit the students for the academic years 2017-18 and 2018-19. The move came as a big jolt to Hi-Tech Group of Companies, which are already facing the heat over various dubious land deals.

The Ministry also authorised the Medical Council of India (MCI) to encash the bank guarantee of 2 crore.

“You are therefore directed not to admit any student in the academic years i.e. 2017-18 and 2018-19 in the MBBS course. Admissions made against the above decision of the Central government will be treated as irregular and action will be initiated under the IMC Act made there under”, said the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

Meanwhile, the Hi-Tech Group has decided to move the Supreme Court against the decision.
