Get Active on Social Media, Naveen tells Youth BJD

Naveen asks BYJD Cadres to become tech-savvyBhubaneswar: “This is the era of modern technology. You have to be tech-savvy. Make your presence felt on social media platforms and connect to the people and try to address their concerns apart from being counter the wrong info being circulated by the rivals at various levels”, BJD President Naveen Patnaik told the Biju Yuva Janata Dal Cadres at their State Executive meeting today.

Naveen also sought to assure the youth of the State about his serious concerns about their problems and steps taken to address all issues. Calling the technology revolution a ‘game changer’, Naveen asks BYJD workers to go aggressive at the grass roots level. He also promised to work with them in tandem to build strengthen the organisation.

The CM recalled how a poor student from Rayagada wrote a letter to him two years ago, sharing his financial constraints that stopped him from taking M.Tech admission at NIT Rourkela (Mechanical Engineering).

“I not only made necessary arrangements to waive off his fee, but also got motivation from that incident to introduce 1% higher education loan scheme for needy students”, he said.

Naveen gave more importance to Youth Innovation and Start-up Policy and called for involvement of youth power in state building. “Using our Industrial Policy, MSME Policy and Start-up Policy, we have been trying hard to generate more employment. We have created 5 lakh jobs in the last 3 years, including 50,000 in the government sector. We aim to create 30 lakh employment opportunities by 2025”, he said.
