CM inaugurates 9th Special India Reserve Battalion
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday inaugurated the 9th Special India Reserve Battalion to be located at Kalahandi.
Patnaik also distributed appointment letters to as many as 490 newly recruited security personnel while inaugurating the IRB Battalion at Jaydev Bhawan in the presence of DGP KB Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Asit Tripathy and others.
The security personnel will be trained at the Basic Training Institute in Burla.
The Battalion has both engineering and security components which will undertake the construction of roads, buildings, bridges, culverts and other permanent infrastructures in Maoist infested areas.
