Tailoring training centre with mechanized sewing machines inaugurated at KISS

Bhubaneswar, Mar 27: In a bid to provide vocational training to the students, a tailoring training centre with 200 mechanized sewing machines was inaugurated in the vocational training centre of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) here on Monday.
Dr Achyuta Samanta, founder of KISS and KIIT inaugurated the training centre.
According to reports, a total of 600 students of the institute will get trained in the training centre in three batches every day.
Vocational training at KISS links education with productivity, economic, development and individual prosperity.
Every student of the institute undergoes vocational education in one of the 50 trades offered as per his or her talent. It is designed to impart necessary occupational skills among the students to mould them into successful entrepreneurs and make them fit in the job market.
Vocational education is an integral part of the curriculum at KISS. Along with formal education, it plays an important role in empowering the students.
A remarkable feature of implementation of this important component at KISS is that it enables the students to earn while they learn.
