Maoists’ bandh affects vehicular movement in M’giri

Malkangiri, Mar 29: Vehicular movements came to a grinding halt in the district due to the bandh called by the Maoist on Wednesday.

Hundreds of passengers and students were seen stranded at different bus stands as vehicles including the passenger busses remained off the roads today.

Many shops and other business establishments were also seen closed on account of the bandh.

According to reports, the red rebels have called the bandh on the occasion of their Adhikar Diwas (Rights’ Day) to urge the state government to solve the basic problems of the people of the district.

The district administration has deployed adequate police forces at all the strategic locations of the district to maintain law and order. Besides, operation has been intensified in the district.
