EOW arrests businessman over Rs 10 crore tax fraud allegations

Bhubaneswar, Mar 28: The economic offence wing (EOW) of Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested a businessman over tax fraud allegations.
The EOW officials arrested Cuttack-based businessman Paban Kumar Jajodia from Bhubaneswar on Rs 10 crore tax fraud allegations.

According to reports, Jajodia had produced fake documents to get registered a company – Measures Kohinoor Industries. Later, the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) of the company was cancelled. However, the accused along with his business partners was doing illegal business by using the TIN No and eventually became the owner of some firms – Subhalaxmi Enterprisers, Maa Kalia Bhandar, Mahavir Enterprisers and Ali Agency.

Jajodia, who was also the co-partner of the Measures Kohinoor Industries, had also opened accounts at different banks with the fake documents.
During investigation the EOW came to know about the forgery and arrested Jajodia today.
