Praneeth stuns Srikanth to clinch Singapore Open Super Series title

B. Sai Praneeth produced a spirited performance to lift his first ever Super Series title at the Singapore Open by defeating his fellow countryman Kidambi Srikanth in all-Indian men’s singles final.

In the 54-minute long match, Srikanth dominated the first game and won 21-17. However, Praneeth rebounded strongly to register a 17-21, 21-17, 21-12 win over Srikanth.

With the win, Praneeth became only the second Indian to win a men’s singles Super Series title.

For the first time in the history of badminton, two Indians clashed in a Super Series final.
