‘Pithas & Mithas’ aplenty this Raja Parba

Bhubaneswar: For foodies in the city, the Raja festival promises a sumptuous fare with hotels offering an array of delicious traditional ‘pithas and mithas.’
Hotel Crown, a leading hotel in Bhubanswar, is holding a five–day food festival titled, ‘Pithas & Mithas,’ from June 14, which would have over twenty dishes added to the standard buffet along with its main course and side dishes.
Besides the delicious ‘Poda Pitha’ to mouthwatering ‘Manda Pitha,’ ‘Aarisha,’ ‘Enduri Pitha,’ the festival also offers sweet dishes like ‘Balusahi,’ ‘Feni,’ ‘Chhena Poda,’ ‘Chhena Jhilli’ among others.
“Every year, we strive to do something different. So, this time, we thought of creating a new variant of ‘Poda Pitha.’ For the diabetic patients, we have prepared a new dish called ‘Salty Poda Pitha,’ so that they too can get to relish something delicious this festive season,” said Chef Rahim of The Crown.
The buffet will have over 40 dishes in all, with greater emphasis on Odia cuisine. “We have added dishes like ‘Mansa (Mutton) Dalma’, Kankada (Crab) Dalma’ and Fish Paturi in the main course. For the five days, we will try to showcase Odia specialities to our guests.”
The special buffet is priced at Rs 950 without taxes. The buffet is available for both lunch and dinner at the Zodiac restaurant.
“This food festival is an attempt to revisit our culture and tradition through food,” said Sushant Rout, Sales Manager, Hotel Crown.
