Stipend of Pre and Para-clinical PG students hiked in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Health Minister Pratap Jena on Tuesday informed that the state government has hiked the stipend of Post Graduate (PG) students undertaking pre and para-clinical courses at the state-run medical colleges.

Jena said that the stipend of the first year students’ has been increased to Rs 48,302 from Rs 39,950.

With the implementation of the hike, the second year students will get Rs 50,658, an increment of Rs 9,000 approximately. Similarly, the third year students’ stipend was increased from Rs 43,848 to Rs 53,014.

The Minister further informed that the state government will provide monthly incentive of Rs 18,000 for both in-service and post graduate doctors, he added.

Earlier on January 1, the state government had announced a hike in stipend of the house surgeons from Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.
