Nabarangpur: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday conducted raids at the residence and other places belonging to a pharmacist at Kadobhatta village in Raighar block of the district in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case.
The accused health official, Balaram Behera has been posted at Hatabharandi CHC in the district.
Sources said, Behera has been staying with his family in a multi-storeyed residential building at Kadobhatta and has given at least 14 houses to others on rent in the same village.
The rented houses have been registered in the name of his two wives, Vigilance officials said.
The total estimation of assets disproportionate to Behera’s known sources of income are yet to be unearthed as vigilance raids were underway, till the report was filed.
