CRPF DG meets CM Naveen, lauds Odisha police

Bhubaneswar: CRPF DG R R Bhatnagar met Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here on Monday and highly appreciated the efforts of the Odisha police in checking Maoists activists in the state.

“CRPF is ready to fight Maoists. We are working with the Odisah police, which is doing extremely well in combating the Maoists in Odisha,” said the CRPF DG while speaking to the reporters after meeting Patnaik.

Bhatnagar took stock of security arrangements in Koraput district yesterday after making an unscheduled visit. He visited the 202 CoBRA Battalion stationed at Sunabeda before chairing a security review meeting at the DIG’s office in Koraput.

Odisha DGP K B Singh, IG (Operation) RP Koche, CRPF IG (Bhubaneswar) Kamalanat Sharma, South-Western Range DIG S. Saini, Koraput Superintendent of Police (SPs) Kanwar Vishal Singh and SPs of Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Nuapara also attended the review meeting.
