BJD’s Jan Sampark Padayatra is futile attempt to hide failure: BJP

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha BJP on Monday termed the Jan Sampark Padayatra (people-connect campaign) of the ruling BJD as a Ghant Ghoda Yatra which symbolizes BJD’s futile attempt to hide its failure.

The saffron party also alleged that the Naveen Patnaik government has created history in collapsing of bridges and flyovers.

“BJD’s Jan Sampark Padyatra is merely a Ghant Ghoda Yatra. It is a futile attempt of the state government which has failed to provide connectivity to rural areas by delaying road and bridge projects during its 17 years’ of tenure,” alleged BJP state general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan at a press meet.

Harichandan alleged that the Works Department headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has completely failed in completing roads and bridges on time. Many officers and BJD leaders have ruined the department.

He demanded that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik should explain his failure to people during the so called Jan Sampark Padayatra.

Reacting to Harichandan’s allegations, senior BJD leader Debiprasad Mishra said that BJP alleges only because it cannot digest the Naveen Patanik led government’s success.

“BJP’s allegation is baseless. It is not Ghant Ghoda Yatra, rather Pragati Ghant Yatra. Can they deny that Odisha has received many awards from the Union government both during the UPA and NDA led central government?” questioned Mishra.
